Letter B and the number 8

Today is Dr. Seuss's birthday!  In honor of it we will be making Horton hears a who!

And we will be learning about the letter B and the number 8.
We will be doing a science experiment,using crisco oil and blue food coloring and water and making a blue ocean in a bottle.
We will be using our fine motor skills and popping bubble wrap and painting with it as well.
We will be using blue paint and mixing it with white to make different shades and using balloons to paint with.
We will be making bunnies from the letter B and use cotton balls for the fur.
We will be doing a number 8 paper and using counting bears and making a pattern.
We will be blowing through a straw and making the paint move across our paper.
Our Bible lesson this week is Thankfulness
and our Bible verse is: We thank you, our god, and praise you. 1Chronicles29:13
Our star student is: Connor 

We are going to be doing a school wide pizza fundraiser. More info to follow

Important Dates
Muffins with Mom and Donuts with Dad is May 7th in the gym at 8:30 am, please come join us for breakfast.
End of the year bash: May 13th times to be determined. We will have fun inflatables, photo booth and popcorn.
Pre-School and PreK Graduation: May 14th
( i/2 day for all students)

Letter P and the number 7

Hope everyone is enjoying the snow day and catching snowflakes on your tongues and making snow angels.

Our letter this week is: 
and our number is:
We will continue to talk about the heart and how the muscle works.
How lucky are we that our letter P falls on President 's Day. we will be talking about what a President is and what his job is and we will be making a flag .

We will be making a pirate as well as an arrival this week.



We will be doing a Letter P search and circle the letter P's.
On Thursday we will be ordering Pizza and eating at 11 am. This is for all students. We are asking for $2.00 from each student to cover the cost.  NO LUNCHES NEEDED for all day students. Please allow your child to wear his or her pajamas as well on Thursday only.
 We will be doing a # 7 worksheet and practicing our scissor skills.
In the afternoon we will be doing hot dots and playdough P's and using candy hearts to practice our squencing and counting.
We will also have a writing station to practice writing our P's  and 7 and our names.
Please remember to turn in your permission slip for the field trip to CMOE which is Feb 25 from 8:30 am until 11:00 am  
  
Our Bible Verse is: Love God and each other. 1 John 4:21 



Our Star Student this week is: Brooklyn  Please bring a snack from the approved snack list and enough for 16 students. And don't forget  your show and tell every day.


We have a few students who have held on to their library books... please return them so your child may check out a new one.

Review week

This week we will be reviewing F,L,and Y
and 4,5 and introducing the number 6.







Thursday will be our Valentines Day Party, don't  forget to send in your child's valentines day cards.
We will be making fruit loop hearts with pipe cleaners.
That you may hang outside for the birds.
We will be using masking tape on white card stock and finger painting around the word love.



Our Bible verse is: Hard work is worthwhile. Proverbs 14:23

In the afternoon we will be painting with celery, it makes hearts.
We will be making love bugs 

Our Star Student is: Brady, please bring enough snacks for 16 students, from the approved snack list.

Don't forget to turn in your field trip permission slip.
And as always parents are welcome to attend.

Please don't forget to turn in your library books, we have a few still out from back in Jan.

February has arrived and we will be busy learning about hearts and the letter Y, and the number 5.
We will be making a yarn heart 
We will be doing lots of puzzles and cooperating with one another by doing a floor puzzle and working together as a team.
We will be using the sand table and practice pouring and digging for foam letter Y's and the number 5's.
We will be making a cute Y craft and the children will be tracing the word YIPPEE!!

We will be doing a number 5 worksheet.

Our bible verse is: Truthfulness
I have chosen the way of truth. Psalm 119:30. We will be telling the story about the little boy who cried wolf.
We will gluing this verse in our Journals.
In the afternoon we will be working on Alphabet flashcards by matching the upper case to the lower case letters.
We will be using our dry erase boards and writing the number 5 and Y.
We are also going to be using hot dots, which consists of cards and a pen that will light up letting the child know if the answer they chose is correct or not.
We will also be using our counting bears and counting to 5.
We also will be finger painting y's.

Our star student is: Athena, please bring in snacks from the approved snack list and a show and tell every day.
Tuition is due at this time.


Our Valentines Day party will be held on Feb 12th.

Letter L and number 4

Our letter this week is L and we will be making Llamas by using the letter L and cotton balls.  We will be making paper plate lions.  The children will be coloring their paper plates yellow and then gluing rigatoni noodles as the mane.    We will be using a clothes line and clothes pins and practice squeezing the pins and hanging the clothes on the line, this will help those little fingers and hands build up strength.
We will be learning about the number  
and doing some simple adding and subtracting.

This week is the letter T, I, J and E and the number 1,and 2

This week will be learning about the word: Kindness and what it means to be kind.
Be kind to everyone. 2 Timothy 2:24

We will be melting two ice cubes, one with salt and one with out, and the children will be guessing which ice cube will melt faster.
We will be making ears from paper and pipe cleaners.
We will be making a tractor from the letter T upper and lower case.



We will also be cutting out a piece of bread from white paper and using craft sticks to spread red or purple paint to represent jam.

We will be doing a number 1 and number 2 papers to help us practice our numbers. 

Our star student is: Colton, please bring snacks from the approved snack list and a show and tell every day to share with the class.

Due to a funeral on Thursday, Arrival will be at the Children's Ministry entrance and the gym only.

Jan 6-8 Letter E and the number 1

We hope that everyone had a blessed holiday and it is hard to believe that 2015 is here!.

We will begin the new year learning about the letter E and the number 1.  We will be gluing eyes on the letter E.  And using bingo blotters to play I spy the number 1.

Our bible verse is: A friend loves at all times.  Proverbs 17:17
We will gluing in paper dolls that we will put together and then glue in journals. with a heart in the middle.

We will also be playing number bingo and bouncing in one pom pom into a container or cup.

We will also try to make the earth in our journal and talk about how important it is to recycle and re use.
Please send in clean trash or small recyclables so that we may glue them onto a large piece of paper. 

We will also talk about what the word Friendliness means. 

Our star student is: Tyler please remember to  bring in snacks from the approved snack list and a show n tell every day.

I will be sending home a new star student list that will take us through the end of the year.  Enclosed is the new list.
