Introducing the letter Zz and the color black

We will be making name plates using card stock and allowing the children to decorate and practice writing his or her name.  The plate will say: Jesus knows my name!

We will be learning the bible verse: Zion hears and rejoices.
Our nursery rhyme for this week is:  Zacchaeus

Our color of the week is:  BLACK

We will be making a zebra from the letter Z

We will be learning about the circle and and square.

Parents pleases do not forget that October tuition is due now and our FALL FESTIVAL is OCT 4th starting at 11am with a tour/ scavenger hunt so that your child can show you the school and all the wonderful artwork from each of the students in all our classes here at Home for Your Heart.  Followed by a delicious lunch in the gym.  Hope to see you there!!

This week in school we will be doing the letter N  and the triangle shape. Our color of the week is : GREEN.

This week at school (Sept 18-20)

We will be doing a lot of reviewing: Letters: A, V,W,M and the colors: red, purple, brown and white.
Our shapes for the week are: circle, oval,square and rectangle.

Our nursery rhyme is: Three little kittens

Some of the activities we will be doing this week are: an acorn scavenger hunt, mixing  our colors together to see what colors we can make. Making whales and V violins. Using our dry erase boards to practice writing our A.V,W,M.  We will be practicing our scissor skills by cutting on pre drawn straight lines and encourage your child that the thumb leads.

Star Student this week is Carson 

Just a few reminders: September tuition is now due and continue to practice cutting with scissors.

Marble painting with mud

This week we will be learning about the letter M and making magnets and monsters and playing in the mud. (Don't worry parents we will be using chocolate pudding or brown paint)

We will be talking about the shape: Rectangle.
While learning about the letter M, we will allow the children to paint with marbles in the art center.

Our nursery rhyme for this week is Mary had a little lamb and our bible verse will be:  My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me.  John 10:27

This week at school

This week at school we learned about the letter V and listened to violin music and  learned about the color purple and learned about Day one  of creation.  We made vases out of the letter V's and tasted veggies and drew which ones we liked the best in our progressive journals.  We even made volcano's.

Join us this week in learning about the  letter W and the color Orange and  Humpty Dumpty. We will be making watermelon  with our letter W's, and Walruses .
