Last blog before Christmas

Dear Parents,

Kerri and I would like to extend to you all a very merry Christmas season, and happy birthday wishes to Jesus!

Just a few things:

I will be creating a new closed group on facebook some time during the Christmas break that is now where you will find our blog.  We are growing by leaps and bounds and this will make it easier for parents to find our class.
Please watch for an invite from me to join the group.


Tuesday and Wednesday (16th and 17th) is our Polar Express day!
Please allow your child to wear his or her pajamas. Please wear sneakers as we may be going across the street to practice for our program. Weather permitted.  NO Slippers!!  We will be serving chocolate milk and popcorn and chocolate milk and chip ahoy cookies with icing and making reindeer food during the movie.

Please join us on Thursday Dec 18, at 10:30 am at  Main Campus for our Christmas Program.  School is half day for ALL students.   Your child may wear his or her Christmas finest!

This week is the letter T

Kerri and I hope that everyone had a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving filled with turkey and stuffing and lots of smiles and laughter.

With the coming weeks we will be extremely busy decorating, wrapping, singing and learning!!
Create and make a Christmas Tree is due by Dec. 9th.
Be creative and all trees will be on display for all to see on the table by our room.
In Chapel this week we will be talking about the angels that announce the birth of Jesus.  Our bible verse is: A savior has been born to you...Glory to God in the  highest. Luke 2:11-14

We will be learning about the letter T and the oval.
Our star student this week is: Nolan, please bring enough snacks for 16 students. Please allow your child to bring a show and tell every day. And use the approved snack list.

Our elf on the shelf will be arriving this week in our room, which is always an exciting time.   We will be making ornaments for our class tree, and will be talking about the significance of why the candy cane is red and white in the weeks to come.  We will be making shepherds and angels this week.  We will be hard at work making Christmas presents for mom and dad. {we do apologize in advance for the green paint that we might not be able to get it all off}  
Please remember that Dec 4th is a half day for ALL students.
Feed my Starving Children will be setting up in the gym.
All tuition is due at this time.

Letter I

We are going to be very busy in the next few weeks practicing our songs for our Christmas program which is December 18. (time will be announced in a future blog) making Christmas presents and wrapping them.
There is no school the week of November 24-28.
We will be doing parent conferences on Monday November 24th.  There are still some spots available for your convenience to sign up.
Our book fair is this week, please feel free to stop by the youth room (309) for your shopping pleasures before and after school. We will have a wish list posted outside our door if you would like to purchase a book for our class.
Our star student this week is: Mason please bring snacks from the approved snack list and a show and tell every day.

Our letter this week is: I and we will be making ice cream in baggies on Tuesday with the other Pre School classes. We will also be making pilgrims to go with our Indians we made last week. We read the story: The First Thanksgiving.  
The shape is: Rectangle.
Our color is: Brown and we will be reading Brown Bear Brown Bear  and stringing beads on yarn following the colors in the book.
We will be making iguana's 
Our bible verse this week is: Oh give thanks to the lord for he is good. Psalm 107:1
In the afternoon we will be playing bingo and starting on our Christmas presents. And doing an I paper to practice our writing skills.

Review Week

There is NO SCHOOL November 11th  we will be honoring our Veterans and Active Duty Service Members.  We have a few students and facility here at HFYH that are or were active duty.
Thank You for all your service and continuing to protect this great land we call home.  And Thank You to the family members that hold down the fort while they are away on deployments.

This week we will be reviewing our letters X, K and H.
We will be talking about The First Thanksgiving and the pilgrims and Indians.
We will be using brown paper plates and making Indians and using braided yarn hair.  We will be making Indian corn by using buttons and sharing our craft with our Feed My Sheep Elders Group that meets on Tuesday's.  
We will be using saran wrap and paint and making art masterpieces.
We will be playing a shape / shuffle patterning game and using our imaginations.
We are borrowing from Mrs. Mylee's room a listening station.
The children will get to try on headphones and listen and follow directions from the stories that they will hear.


Our Bible Verse: Trust in the lord with all your heart. Proverbs 3:5

We will also review our colors: blue,orange and grey.

Shapes are: Rectangle and Diamond 



           
Our Star Student is: Joshua, please provide snacks from the approved snack list and please allow your child to bring a show and tell every day. ( since we do not have school on Tuesday; Joshua may bring two on either Wed or Thurs. )

WE WILL BE HALF DAY DEC 4th due to FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN: they will be setting up for our big packing event. ( which our children took part in this past week by packing rice. )

Kerri and I hope that every one had a fun filled time with our Halloween party.  We both wanted to thank you for all that donated and volunteered your time to make it such a success!

Our Letter this week is H and the  color orange and the rectangle.
The bible verse is: I am the Lord, your healer. Exodus 15:26

We will be very messy this week, so please excuse our mess!
We are making adorable hedge hogs from brown play dough and malted balls and pine needles.  ( Thank You to Mrs. Nettie's son for getting all our needles )
We will be painting our hands and doing a special project which is top secret!!
We will be using a sensory bin filled with corn and using spoons to dig for treasures.

 Kerri and I are asking for each student to please bring in one small item that starts with the letter H so that we may weigh it on Thursday and estimate who's item weighs the most.

We will be reading a cute story about a little hedge hog and his red hat.  And doing a craft that goes along with the book.

Oct 28-30

Get ready to learn about the letter K and the color blue and the diamond.
We will be making keys and digging in the sand box for diamonds as well as making paper plate pumpkins.
We will be using eye droppers and different shades of blue and squeezing the eye dropper and letting the paint drip and run down our paper.
We will be watching a movie about a little square pumpkin who saves the day in the pumpkin patch.
Our Bible Verse is: Jesus Christ... is the true god and eternal life. 1 John 5:20 
During chapel time we are going to be learning about how Jesus turns water into wine.
Our Halloween Party : is Thursday Oct 30th from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with a costume parade  following through out the school.
PLEASE make ALL costumes BATHROOM FRIENDLY.
Our Star Student is: Harper B, please bring snacks from approved list, and a show and tell each day.

Thank You so much for all the prayers and kind words for my mom and myself during this very stressful time. They are very much appreciated.
My mom is recovering at home and we will find out the results in a few days.  They took 2 lymph nodes and did a partial mastectomy.  She is very sore but has a positive attitude.  She will start 6-8 weeks of radiation after she heals a little more. If the nodes are involved then chemo will be given as well.  Thank You again for all the prayers and kind words.

Blog Letter X

Hi everyone,
Our letter this week is X and we will be drawing the children s arm and hand and gluing q tips to make an x ray. Our color is grey and our shape is
diamond

We will be using craft sticks to make x marks the spot and gluing them into our journal.
Our bible verse is: Fear not for I am with you Isaiah 41:10

.
We will be using grey paper and paper plates and grey crayons to make grey bats to hang in the classroom.
We will be using play dough and putting it down on the letter x to learn out to make and X.
We will be using the sand box during  center time and the children will be digging for diamonds.
We will be doing puzzles and stringing beads and lacing cards.



Our Star Student is: Harper A: please bring 16 snacks from the approved snack list.and a show and tell everyday.
There is still room for parents to sign up for our Halloween Party on Oct 30th , we need stickers, snacks and drinks and volunteers for craft stations and snack and story station and some one to man the bouncy slide.

Oct 14th -16 Review week

Our field trip to Mayse Farms has been canceled due to rainy weather, but the kids wont miss out, thanks to two great Directors and a few phone calls our field trip as been changed to Pump It Up.  Parents are welcomed to join us. Buses leave at 8:30 am and will return by 11:30 am. I sent everyone an email with the voucher to sign and send back to Stephanie. If you have not done so please do, and I will have extra ones in the classroom if you still need one to sign.
NO BACKPACKS are needed.  But please send a lunch with your child if they are full day.

We will be reviewing this week, the letter M, N and Z. The shapes: square and triangle.
The colors: yellow,green,and black.
We will be making a shape collage using triangles and squares

We will be using a potato masher and yellow paper and black paint to make bumble bees which make the z sound.
We will be starting to make our Halloween crafts by using toilet paper rolls and wrapping them with paper towels and two googly eyes to make a classroom full of mummies.
Our full day students in the afternoon will be making a scary ( not too scary) picture on black construction paper using googly eyes and twigs that we will collect from outside and white paper at the bottom and a yellow moon or white moon.

Our star student is: Connor please bring snacks from the approved snack list and enough for 16 students.  Don't forget a share and tell each day. Please note since we will be on a field trip on Tuesday, please allow Connor to bring two show and tells on Wednesday.
On Day 7 God rested and we had the children draw what they thought God looked like when he rested!  

This week in chapel we will be talking about  how Jesus walks on water
and our bible verse is: Do not fear, only believe. Mark 5:36

Our Halloween Party is scheduled for Thursday Oct 30th from 9:00 to 10:00 in the gym.  We are asking for parents to help with each of the stations and also sign up to bring the following items:
Halloween stickers, Little Debbie Halloween snack cakes and Capri Suns.
There will be a sign up sheet posted on our door  if you are able to help.

I also wanted to let you know that the week of  Oct 21-23 there will be a sub for me, my mother was recently diagnosed with Lobular Carcinoma, which is a form of breast cancer.  She is scheduled to have surgery on Oct 22 so I am going to travel to Jacksonville Fla. to be with her and my youngest sister.
Lynn Davidson who is a former pre school teacher here at Home For Your Heart School.  Will be there on Tuesday and Wednesday and on Thursday Sarah Guse will be the sub and she too has worked at the school.  If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call me, or text me 912-674-8288.

Oct 7-9 Letter Z

This week we will be learning about the letter Z and the color black and the square 
We will painting our hand prints and magically turning them into Zebra's by drawing stripes with black crayons, using black yarn for a mane and black pipe cleaners for a curly tail.
We will also be using zip loc bags filled with black paint and making z's and practice zipping a variety of items.
We will be making Sally Square 

 and we will also be learning the Zacchaeus song for our journal. And gluing in a coloring page to go along with the song.
Zacchaeus was a wee little man, A wee little man was he.(using both hands, make it look like you are showing the size of a very small man.)
He climbed up in the sycamore tree, the Savior for to see.
(using both hands act as though you are climbing up a tree)
And when the Savior passed that way, He looked up in the tree,
(using you fingers, make it look as though someone is walking.)
And he said, "Zacchaeus, you come down from there;
For I'm going to your house today, for I'm going to your house today."
(Start clapping your hands when singing this verse.)

In the afternoon we will be making Zinnias from cupcake liners and green paper for the stems and leaves.
We will also be finger painting with black paint and cutting out zig zag lines and gluing them on our finger painted paper to make zig zag masterpieces.

Our Star Student this week is Bryson: please bring snacks from the approved list and enough for 16 students and please bring in a show and tell every day.

October tuition is now due at this time,as well as our field trip permission slips and monies. If you plan on attending our field trip you may meet us there or follow the bus as we will be leaving promptly at 8:30 am. Please dont be late. You may pay at the gate when you arrive.  
Halloween Party Oct 30 we need several volunteers to help.

Sept 30 -Oct 2

Before we get started with this weeks blog, Id thought we would share a few pictures.  Twister fun! 

 Mustache Day 

Prayers and birthday's at the pole.


This week will be learning about the letter N , the color green, and the shape 
 and our Day 6 of creation: God made animals and people. Genesis 1:24-27
We will be making neckties which we will be practicing our scissor skills by cutting the neckties out and putting stickers on them.
We will be gluing numbers on the letter N.   And we will be stringing noodles on to a piece of yarn to practice our fine motor skills.
We will also be making bird nests by using paper plates and painting them brown and then putting 3 birds in the nest.
Our star student this week is: Brooklyn  Please bring a snack from the approved snack list and enough for 16 students.
Our Field Trip permission slips will be going home this week.
October Tuition is due at this time.
Our Halloween party will be Oct 30th we will be doing all pre school classes from 9am to 10 am. We will be using the gym and we will be having a treat station, craft station, story station and game stations.  We will need some volunteers to help out at this time. Sept 23-25 Letter M

Mrs. Kerri and I hope you all enjoyed our fall family picnic and we are so proud of our little ones for bringing in their pennies to help with the feed my starving children mission.  
And Thank You Brady for the pie in the face!
Such a fun day!!

This week we will be learning about the letter M and the sound it makes.  We will be making Monsters by using straws and paint and googly eyes.

      We will be using some M and M's for some color and math fun!
We will be putting Day 4 of creation in our Journals:
Day 4:  God made the sun,moon and the stars. Genesis 1:14-19
We will be doing Day 5 of creation as well.
Day 5: God made the birds and fish Genesis 1:20-23
Our color is Yellow  and our shape is Triangle.
Our full day students will be making a sun flower by painting their paper plates yellow and using tea as the center of the flower.
And will be using their scissors to cut slits in the paper plate to make the petals.
We will be also playing the crazy game of Twister 


Our STAR STUDENT this week is Brady, please bring snacks from the approved snack list for 16 students.  Don't forget a show and tell every day!

Review Week Sept 16-18

We will be reviewing our letters A,V and W along with the circle,and triangle and Day one through three of creation.
Day 1 God made light
Day 2 God made the sky and the clouds
Day 3 God made the land and plants.
We will be reviewing our colors as well, purple,pink and white.
We have collected acorns in a jar and we will be allowing the children to estimate how many are in the jar. And we will be making a chart with their guesses.  Every one will get a prize for estimating.  We will also be using some of our acorns for painting with our review colors.So watch out for some acorn art!
We are turning our W's into wagons and using Popsicle sticks to make our letters.  In the afternoon we will be finger painting and using dry erase markers and boards and writing our letters.
Don't forget our Family Picnic on Thursday at 11:00 am 
Bring a blanket and a picnic lunch and enjoy having your lunch on the lawn with your child.

Our Star Student this week is Athena, please bring snacks for the week and a show and tell everyday. Use the approved snack list and there are 16 students. Please don't forget the star student bag!


Pre school and Pre K are collecting pennies to help FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN, we will have a class bucket that your child may put his or her pennies in.  The classes that collect the most, their teachers will get a pie in the face.... hope it is banana cream!!

Our letter for the week of Sept 9-12 is W

The kiddos had a lot of fun doing our first science experiment on Wednesday, Mrs. Nicki and Mrs. Stephanie even joined us for the fun.  We used baking soda and vinegar and made our volcano erupt.
This week we will be making two worm farms and Mrs. Brandy and Mrs. Courtney's class will be joining us and both classes will be using potting soil, coffee grounds, some lettuce or banana peels and worms, yes worms and we will be documenting them in our journals.
 We will be practicing our cutting skills by cutting out our triangles that we will be using to make triangle fish during our review week.
We will be planting watermelon seeds and playing in a water table and practicing our pouring skills and measuring.  We will be using measuring cups, spoons.
We will be using white dots or white stickers on our W's.
We are really focusing on our fine motor skills this week, and we will be stringing beads and using jumbo tweezers and picking up pom poms and putting them in a bowl.
We will be working on Day 3 of Creation: God made the land, trees and plants. 
Our Star Student is: Addyson, please bring snacks from the approved snack list and enough for 16 students and don't forget your show and tell.
September tuition is due at this time.
Don't forget about our FALL FAMILY PICNIC Sept 18th at 11:00 am  join us on the lawn and bring your lunch.
                                               Please return all library books by Wednesday so that your child can check out another book from Mrs. Ann.  There will be a green basket next to the door to put your child's book in.

Sept 2 Letter V, Pink and Circle

This week we will be learning about the letter V and the sound that it makes.  We will continue to learn about the circle and the color pink.

We will be joined by all of our other pre school friends on Wednesday after chapel to learn about volcano's and doing a science experiment by using baking soda, orange food coloring and vinegar by mixing these ingredients together we will make our own volcano erupt. 
 We will also make a volcano by using a paper plate and brown construction paper in the shape of a cone and use red, yellow and orange tissue paper as the lava.
We will be using toilet paper rolls and different colored paint to make circles and turn them into a caterpillar. 
We will also be making a self portrait but pretend we popped a bubble by using pink tissue paper, to represent a piece of bubble gum. 
We will be learning about Day Two in Chapel: God made the sky and clouds Genesis:1 6-8  we will be gluing blue paper and cotton balls in our journals.
We will be introducing the number 1 and use counting bears.

In the afternoon we will be playing some matching games and using a 4 scene picture sequence cards and place them in order.
We will be learning about dry erase boards and using them to practice writing our letters A and V and also practice holding our markers the correct way.


Our Star Student for Sept 9 is:  Addyson Woodruff, please bring snacks from the approved list and the star student bag will go home with your child on Thursday, they may bring in a show and tell.

August 26- Letter A

Let the letter learning begin!! During the week we will learn about the letter A and the two sounds that it makes.
Our color this week is PURPLE and please allow your child to wear purple to school on Thursday.
Our shape is circle 
and we will be making a circle collage.
We will be gluing our Bible Verse: Genesis 1:3-5
God said,"Let there be light." in our journals. Along with the yellow and black paper that we ripped last week.

We  will be painting with purple paint in art center.
Also while in centers we will be making angels by using the capital letter A and glitter and coffee filters.
Get ready for some apple tasting, the children will be eating a red and green and yellow apples and then drawing which one is their  favorite in their journals.
We will be cooking this week as well, making some delicious homemade applesauce.  Please let us know immediately if your child has an allergy to apples or applesauce so we can make sure they do not eat them.  Thank You 
Our star student for Sept 2-4 will be Maelynn please bring enough snack from the approved snack list for 16 students and the star student bag will go home on Thursday and be returned on Tuesday with a show and tell.

August 19th Our first blog post of the school year

Welcome to our blog, we hope you find this helpful and informative.

Our first week of school will be full of fun and activities that we hope your child will like and be excited to learn more.

We will learn how to quietly walk in the halls and catch a bubble.
We will go outside and learn how to be safe on our playground.
We will be reading  The Kissing Hand Book and doing some really cute crafts that go along with the book.
We will be using colorful counting bears and playing a matching game.
We will be working on our gross and fine motor skills by tearing up paper that we will be using next week for a project.
 we will be using scissors  and learning how to hold them correctly and practice open  shut them open shut them.

We will be using noodles and spoons and other items,and practicing our sensory skills.

Important Announcements

Tuesday - May 13th Pre -School will walk over to the main campus and run through Graduation. PLEASE put your child in tennis shoes.

Tuesday- May 13th we will be having our Pizza Party for ALL students, please send in your 2.00 ASAP.  NO LUNCHES NEEDED we will be eating at 11 am.

Wednesday - May 14th is END OF THE YEAR PARTY,  Pre-School is from 10 am to 11 am. Inflatables and pony rides will be available for each class. In order for your child to participate in the pony rides, please sign and return the waiver that was sent home in your child's binder.  I will have a few extras on Wednesday morning in the classroom just in case. PARENTS ARE INVITED!!!  Lunches will be needed for full day students.

Thursday- May 15th, Students will need to be dropped off at the main campus by 8:30 am for practice, ALL STAFF will be there to greet the children.
We will return to our classrooms and we have been invited to watch Toddler Time and Jumpstart graduation at 10:30 am in the Chapel.
HALF DAY ONLY! NO FULL CLASSES TODAY.


Graduation Night, DOORS WILL OPEN AT 6:00 pm at the Main Campus.
Please have your child wear his or her HFYH shirt.
Please have your child in the GREEN ROOM no later than 6:15.  
After Graduation is over please pick up your child in the GREEN ROOM.

Ms. Katie and I would like to take this time to thank you for sharing your child with us, we have enjoyed watching your child grow academically as well as spiritually.  Each and every one of our kiddos have touched our hearts and it has been our pleasure to be a part of their growth.

This week is our review on letters R,S and U

We have a busy week ahead of us with many things to do!
We will start out our week with food coloring and water making raindrops.
We will be playing in Rainbow Spaghetti, we will be decorating underwear for the letter U. We will be sponge painting and playing a spoon game and if time allows will be doing a sink or float activity.
We will be playing S pantomimes: sweep, slide, smile, sing, sew, swing and stomp.

On May 1st is our 100th day of school. All of preschool will be participating in our celebration.  We will be making a 100 days smarter hats, We will be stacking 100 Styrofoam cups, making sunglasses and walking on 100 footsteps.  And we will be having a wonderful, delicious snack that you and your child will help prepare by counting out 100 items on our note that went home on Thursday.  We will be doing this from 10-11.  This is just for preschool students to take part in.

May 1st is also Muffins for Mom and Donuts with Dad at 830 am in the gym, so come enjoy some breakfast on us.

Some other very important dates:

May 13th Is our Preschool Pizza Party, all Preschool students are asked to bring in $2.00 to cover the cost of pizza and drinks.  Please send in ASAP. 
May 14th is End of the Year Party, Parents are invited to attend, we will have inflatables,  pony rides, face painting and even a chance to hit your teacher with a pie. Preschool will be from 10:00 - 11:00 am.
May 15th is our last day of school and will be a half day for all students.
Graduation is at our Main Campus and will start at 6:30 pm.
ALL STUDENTS ARE ASKED TO WEAR HFYH SHIRTS. PLEASE NO FLIP FLOPS OR HEELED SHOES.
Students should be in designated classrooms no later than 6:15pm.

April 21, i a make up day, letter U

Our letter this week is U!
We will be making  Uni-cycles  and playing the game U toss by using Styrofoam letter U's and empty paper towel rolls. 
 We will be making umbrellas and using glue drops as rain on blue paper.

We will be learning about under and over, up and down and having fun with an obstacle course.

We will be making the UP house and using our hand prints with finger paint as the balloons.
We will be gluing our bible verse and coloring it, and doing a U paper.

Our star student is Sophia 

We do have school on Monday April 21.

Our 100th day of school is almost here, we will be eating 100 fruit loops and making 100 days smarter hats, and decorating the number 100 with one hundred dots.  All pre school classes will take part in this fun activity.

We will be having a pizza party in May near the end of the yr, more details to follow.

Letter S and Field Trip

Tuesday we will be heading out to our field trip to a working farm, it is going to be chilly, highs are only in the 40's PLEASE dress your child in jeans, and sneakers and a light weight coat or layers.

Our letter this week is S and we will be reading the story Stone Soup and making it as well as eating it for snack. {please let us know if your child can not eat vegetable soup} We will be doing this on Wednesday.

We will be decorating card stock socks with  water color paint and finding the letter S that will be hidden on them with  white crayons.  We will be using green paper in a salad bowl and using brown paper with letters on them, they will have to find the S's and put them in the salad.

We will be playing in the sand table and finding things that start with  the letter S.

Our Bible Verse is: Submit yourselves then, to god.  Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4-7

We will be using glitter and decorating Stars and then hanging them with string.

If you have not paid tuition it is now due and will be late on the 15th.
If you have not turned in your doughnut forms, please bring those in on Tuesday.

Our letter this week is R and the number 23

This week we will be making roosters from lower case r's and making raindrops from blue paper and using food coloring with eye droppers and making rainbows on the raindrops.
We will be using rice on upper case R's.
We will be coloring rectangles red  and tracing the rabbits path with our pencils and practice holding our pencils correctly.
We will be making rain sticks from paper towel holders and rubber bands and foil.  We will then play a game with our sticks and use music.
Our bible verse is: Rejoice in the lord always.  I will say it again. Rejoice!
We will be painting a paper plate blue and reading Rainbow Fish and making our own Rainbow Fish.

We have been busy practicing our songs for Recognition Night.
Our field trip forms are due.
April 11, Please turn in your Fundraiser forms.
Tuition is due now.
If you have not turned in your report card yet, please do so as we need to start accessing the children for end of the year, so that we can see all the growth that they have made.
  Please turn in all field trip forms as soon as possible.
We are in desperate need of paper towels, if you could spare a roll or two we would greatly appreciate your kindness!!

Review Week

Katie and I hope that you all enjoyed your spring break and that the kids are ready to come back for some fun learning activities. 

We will be reviewing O, G and Q  and numbers 19, 20 and 21.
We will be making owls and Oscar the Grouch and paper plate gorillas  and using q tips to make spring flowers.  We will be using the listening stations.
We will be growing grass in Styrofoam cups. and we will be using orange paint in zip loc bags  and using q tips to practice making the letters O,G and Q.
We will be using counting blocks to practice our counting.

Our Star Student this week is Keegan, please bring enough snacks from the approved snack list for 16 students.

Tuition is now due for the month of April.
There will be one more make up date which is April 21.
We will be going on a field trip will let every one know that date soon.

Q is the letter of the week

Q is our letter of the week and we will be making a pre-school quilt with Mrs. Lynn and Mrs. Nichole and Mrs. Nettie and Mrs. April's classes.  We will be using an ABC pattern and some of the ladies from the church quilting team have offered to help our little ones.  The quilt will be displayed in the welcome center when finished and we hope to donate it to a local organization.

We will also be painting with quills and q-tips.

On Tuesday we will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day we will be making a fruit loop rainbow with a pot of gold and making leprechaun masks and a magical leprechaun will be making a mess of our room!!

We do have school Friday May 21.
Tuition is due at this time.

Letter O and number 20

Our letter this week is O and the number 20.
Our Bible Verse for this week is: Obey your leaders and submit to their authority.  They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Hebrews: 13:17

We will be coloring an O orange then using reinforced circles to trace the O.
We will be making O is for Ostrich.
We will be making pipe cleaner O's and ring tossing them into buckets.
We will be using orange crayons and students will color the orange items on their worksheet.
We will be painting with Oranges and carrots and eating them for afternoon snack.
We will be learning to count by 5's and playing an octopus math game.
We will be having some fun with shaving cream
We will be making toilet paper octopuses and gluing on 8 legs.
We will be using oats and gluing them onto some O's 

Remember we will have School this Friday as well as next week.

Our Letter this week is G and number 19

Katie and I can hardly believe that it is March already!!  
The kids have made great strides in learning and making friends with each other and Katie and I couldn't be more proud of each and every one of them.

This week our letter is: 
and we will be learning the sound it makes.  We will be making giraffe's 

along with gators from envelopes.

We will be using goldfish to outline upper and lower case G's on a paper plate and then eating our goldfish.
We will be using Easter grass under our giraffe's  for grazing.
We will be  using plastic golf clubs and plastic balls for a friendly game of golf.
We will be playing a gum drop game if time allows and we will be building a gum drop house with gum drops and tooth picks.
We will be using plastic cups and hiding a g under a cup and the children will have to find the g under the right cup and then think of something that starts with the letter g.
We will be going on a garbage collection trip through out the school and collect garbage (clean) that will be placed for them to locate and make a garbage collage.  each child will be carrying a plastic bag to collect their garbage.

We will be doing a number 19 paper and practice counting.  We will be using play dough and making the number 19 by pressing it on to the paper.  

Our Bible Verse is:  Give, and it will be given to you.   A good measure, pressed down;shaken together and running over, will be poured into you lap.  Luke:6:38

Reviewing P,B and C

This week our Star Student is: Gavin, please bring a snack off of the approved snack list.

We will be reviewing the letters P, B, and C and numbers,17,18 and 19.

We will making some of the crafts that we did not get to make due to Mother Nature.  Making pizza's from paper plates and red paint and yarn for cheese and brown construction paper for pepperoni's.
will be making cupcakes from construction paper and ice the cupcake with paint and shaving cream.


Our field trip is on Wednesday the 26th, please feel free to follow the bus, or meet us there. Let's have some fun learning at CMOE!!

We will be back to school by morning dismissal.
Friday is a MAKE UP DAY!!! We will be having school.

A fun time was had by all at the HFYH Olympics, there was a bean bag relay, the spoon relay and the running and hopping relay.
We had opening ceremonies by having each of the pre school star students from each class hold and run with our home made torch which was made by tissue paper for the flame and a toilet paper roll.  After each star student did the run we all did  the Pledge of Allegiance and the games began!!

Letter C and number 18

This week is going to be extra exciting!!  The Pre- School and Pre- K classes will be hosting The Home For Your Heart  Olympics in our gym on Tuesday.  All pre school classes will be participating at 9 am  and the star students from each class will get to hold our own home made Olympic Torch and run a lap around the gym to start the games.  Every child will receive a medal!!
Watch for pictures!!

Our letter this week is C and our number is 18
The Bible Verse is:  Children, obey your parents in the lord for this is right. Ephesians 6:1

We will be baking cookies on Wednesday afternoon for snack.
We will be playing the carrot seed game where children will be rolling a dice and having to put the correct green or orange m and m on the correct number 1 through 6.
We will be making a cactus using green construction paper and green rice for the thorns and tissue paper flowers.
We will be making crowns from paper plates and using bingo blotters to decorate, the children will be counting with Katie and I and putting 18 dots on the their crowns.

We will be painting our letter C's with water and instant coffee, 
We will be making caterpillars and turning housekeeping into a camp ground.
We will also be tasting different kinds of cereal  and making  chart to see which is our class favorite.
